Martijn
Hagens graduated cum laude as a Master of Science in Social Psychology
and Developmental Psychology at the University of Amsterdam. He
is specialised as a trainer in Social Psychology. In Developmental
Psychology he is specialised as a gerontologist and clinical neuropsychologist.
During his studies he has done literature research into cultural
differences in palliative care with minority group patients in
the Netherlands (see |research|). It can be concluded that (individual
and cultural) differences exist in opinions about ‘good’
communication around death.
Since 2012 he has been
working as a junior researcher at the EMGO+ Institute at the
VU Medical Center. He researches demedicalised assistance in
suicide and has published two articles on the subject. For more
